Gianfranco Anastasi joined RPA in 2018. He has a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and degrees in Marine Biology (MSc Hons/BSc). During his research activities Gianfranco gained experience in fisheries science, marine environment, data collection and fieldwork activities. He has experience in handling and processing complex data sets, data analysis and interpretation, techniques for statistical analysis and modelling.
Since joining RPA Gianfranco has provided advisory and technical support for fisheries science related projects and research support for economic appraisal studies, for a wide range of clients. At RPA, Gianfranco is responsible for the collection and the analysis of information across a range of different topics, comprehensive literature reviews, processing and analysing quantitative and qualitative data. He has also contributed to multiple consultation exercises, using surveys and interviews to gather information from a wide range of stakeholders.
Gianfranco’s recent work includes projects for Defra to evaluate the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities (IFCAs), in which his activities included data collection and processing, stakeholder engagement and report production. He is a native speaker of Italian and is fluent in English.
